The old table needed to be replaced because it was a bit too small for 8 or 9 persons and the table-top was not in very good condition anymore. But the apartment is on the 6th floor and can only be reached by a long staircase or an elevator, so it is not possible to move a table-top that is more than 3 meters long up to the apartment. Some people use helicopters to move big things, but we thought we could make a table on the spot.

So we bought some raw oak planks from Valbois down in the valley and started a week of hard but enjoyable work. You can see the process and final result below.
